Opt out of the Term 'Boho' or 'Bohémien'

The word for the subcultural fashion: Boho or Bohémien was a term used for nomadic communities by the French around the 15th century. According to, Project Cece, "French erroneously thought they had come from Bohemia, a region presently corresponding to a part of the Czech Republic but a separate kingdom until 1918." As someone who understands the importance of these communities and the erasure of their history within fashion, the term Free-spirited fashion will be used within The Hemline community. This type of style is known for its mix-and-match approach, where individuality and self-expression take center stage. It encourages wearing clothing and accessories that reflect a love for nature, art, and a carefree, unconventional spirit. The combination of earth tones and layering creates a look that's both cozy and stylish, making Free Spirited fashion a popular choice for those who appreciate a relaxed and artistic approach to dressing.
